How You Can Give

How to Give

Giving to a church or ministry through the Foundation can be done either directly or with many different planned giving vehicles. To explore which option might be right for you, browse through the gift models listed below or click on the Gift Options tab at the top of the page.

  • Charitable Bequest
You designate a church or ministry as the beneficiary of a chosen asset through a will or trust and the Foundation administers the bequest on your behalf.

  • IRA Rollover
Congress has enacted a permanent extension of the IRA Charitable Rollover. The Foundation is available to assist you in making rollover gifts directly to your local church or the Church of the Nazarene.
  • Beneficiary Designation Gift
You designate the Foundation as the beneficiary of a retirement, investment, or bank account or your life insurance policy and then tell us how you would like the funds distributed to ministry.
  • Charitable Remainder Unitrust or Annuity Trust
You transfer cash or appreciated assets to the Foundation. We provide you with income for life or a term of years and then transfer the remainder to the church or ministry you designate.
  • Charitable Lead Trust
You fund a trust through the Foundation that makes gifts to your local church or another ministry for a number of years. After a period of time, your family receives the remainder at significant tax savings.
  • Sale and Unitrust
You give a portion of your property to the Foundation to fund a trust. When the asset is sold, you receive cash from the sale and income for life, and the remainder is given to the ministry you designate.
  • Bargain Sale
The Foundation purchases your property for less than fair market value. You receive cash and a charitable deduction, and the remaining value of the asset is given to your local church or favorite ministry.
  • Give It Twice Trust
You make the Foundation the beneficiary of an asset in order to establish a trust. It provides income to your children for a period of years and is then transferred to the church or ministry that you choose.
  • Life Estate Reserved
You give your property to the Foundation but retain the right to use the property during your life. After your passing, the property is sold and the funds given to your local church or favorite ministry.
