IRA Charitable Rollover

If you are 70 ½ or older, an IRA Charitable Rollover gift allows you to transfer money directly from your IRA to a ministry, satisfying your required withdrawals and bypassing taxes on the gift amount.

Benefits of an IRA charitable rollover

  • Avoid taxes on transfers of up to $105,000 from your IRA to our organization
  • May satisfy your required minimum distribution (RMD) for the year
  • Reduce your taxable income, even if you do not itemize deductions
  • Make a gift that is not subject to the deduction limits on charitable gifts

How an IRA charitable rollover gift works

If you are interested in making a gift directly from your IRA, the Foundation can help facilitate that gift to your local church or to the Church of the Nazarene and its affiliated ministries. While the Foundation will not take part in the transaction in any way, we offer free consultations to those considering the gift and are available to help guide the receiving organization through the receipt of the gift.

IRA Charitable Rollovers gift cannot be:

  • Given directly to the Nazarene Foundation
  • Used to fund a
    • Donor-Advised Fund
    • Charitable Gift Annuity
    • Charitable Trust
